A fashion translation of the painting “Bound To Hindrance”
\
Intricately hand-sewn lace appliqué on tulle and a structured waist corset—
a contrast between the hindrances and freedom of women in society.
This exhibit piece was created in 2021, during a pivotal moment, post-pandemic recovery
and Philippines was cautiously reopening for travel.
The creation process was a labor of love, involving 72 hours of painstakingly detailed hand-sewn lace appliqués.
Its journey to its destination (from Philippines to China to San Diego then New York),
was equally remarkble, taking over 168 hours of air travel due to an unforseen layover delay.
This piece embodies both the resilience of its creation and the challenges of the era it represents.
